Omeprazole is far better than ranitidine.. they usually work within a few hours ..If I feel a little bit acidy i take one straight away and it eases it .. after a while you may find you only have to take one now and again.. has'nt it made you feel better yet
It was quite quick to work for me as well.

Sorry you are still suffering though give it a little time.

Have they got the test results back yet? That could shed some light.

I'm pretty sure I went on the lanzoprazole first after I had a stomach ulcer so was suffering quite badly generally so hard to say about how quick for me as had that to recover from.

Always found the omeprazole very effective and pretty quick though.

I still have to watch what I eat though as certain things will set off the reflux generally.

I do feel a little better today, although I do feel quite heady which my doctor said can be a common side effect. Last night there didn't seem to be a lot of difference but i've just eaten so I'll see how it goes! Thank you both
Jenna1978, what type of food do you watch out for to avoid a reflux? I have found that these medications do not assist me at all. I have recently had a camera down my throat and nothing sinister was found, but of course. I am still suffering...
Rich and spicy or too heavy things mainly. I find certain things harder to digest, seems to be grains, a lot of white bread or rice. Shame as I love rice.

I have malabsorpion though so that adds to it and much better generally now I'm on medication for that.
