What product would you suggest to get rid of or almost completely fade them?

My Mum recently bought a product called Bio-Oil. She was looking for something to fade some operation scars and discovered an advert in a magazine about this. It seems to be good for burns, scarring, stretchmarks etc. Mum swears by it now. I think various pharmacies such as Tesco stock this. They have a website:

does it fade them tho, on old or new ones or both?and how old are the scars allowed to be for them to help fade them?

nothing will fade them except possibly time. save your money

bio-oil does work, i had nasty red stretchmarks after i put on some weight and i used bio-oil (not very regularly because i keep forgetting lol) and now they're silvery grey colour, i'm not sure if you use it more regularly they will fade completely but i figured silvery grey is better than red

Silvery grey is the colour they all turn eventually. I don't think it is the product that is doing that at all!

actually it was like about 2 weeks after the stretch marks appeared, i don't think they fade that quickly, do you?

I ballooned during my pregnancy (put on over 50% of my body weight - I was huge) and asked my Health Visitor if she had any suggestions for my stretch marks post delivery. She said I'd be wasting my money.  Any products available will fade them, but they will fade naturally (and quickly) from red to silver anyway.  So, I didn't waste my time or money and despite my massive bulk, just over one year on I'm pre-baby weight and have only very fine silvery lines that I only see if I really look for them.

I should say that, even with my massive excess weight, the lines faded to silver from red within about a month of giving birth.
