I was prescribed this on Monday (twice daily with food). Not entirely sure it's working but it's only been a short time. Just wondered if anyone had experienced side effects from it?

Cheers.

i grew a beard, not so back once i trimmed it and dyed it green, i'm quite found of it though, the tail though that is a little annoying
I swapped from Pregabilin to Naproxen.................I have never been so itchy in my life!
Whether it was the Pregabalin leaving my system, or the Naproxen entering, I'm not sure.

What's happening with you ?

Well other than the fact that I'm still in pain in my heels whenever I walk (which perhaps would be more if I wasn't taking it), I just feel terribly sad today which is rather unlike me. Grumpy yes but rarely sad! I noticed that there's a possible side effect of depression and since I'm already more prone to that sort of thing anyway, I just wondered if it was the meds doing it... In which case I can stop trying to work what's bloody wrong with me and get on organising clinics for depressed teenagers instead! ;0)
I see..........
Sorry, I can't help on that score.
I've been quite low for months because of my back-pain and would find it difficult to apportion how much of that ought to be attributed to my meds.

Still, next month (fingers crossed) ought to see me rather more pain-free.........if a little shorter ! :o)
Are you having an op Jack?
A 'micro-discectomy'............
I've got a slipped disc which has caused me endless pain and bother for the last 5 years. I'm having an operation to remove it, next month.
Question Author
Constant pain is rather emotionally draining isn't it, mine is my legs, hips and feet (walking is fun) but I don't imagine it's anywhere as bad as a slipped disc, feel for ya... Did you get any reply to your question in health? (Other than my entirely helpful contribution obviously!)

How long will you be in hospital for?
Scary stuff. Although obviously for the best I find these things make me queasy. Not the thought of something going wrong...just you know, yukky yukky...removing something.

Good luck xx
Thanks, girls.............:o)

No, China. I'm afraid yours is the only answer it received.
I may be in hospital overnight.........possibly 2. Luckily Mrs JtH had already booked the week off work (I think she thought we may be able to get away somewhere at the time she booked..oops!).
Question Author
Oooh, sorry about that... I thought you'd get more replies from sensible people or I wouldn't have been so flippant!

What about aftercare, are you going to be in pain and having to stay in bed or will you be able to move about?
I'm not entirely sure but I believe the 'modern thinking' is that I ought to get myself as mobile as possible as soon as possible.

Mrs JtH is entirely practical and will minister to all my needs, of that I am certain. I will, however, have to look elsewhere for any 'there, there, there-ing'............:o)

As I said in my original post, I have no qualms about the op. I have had 2 MRI scans 4 years apart and there has been no change/improvement in that time, so I don't believe I can look forwards to spontaneous healing. I'm just fed up with the situation the way it is and any chance of improvement is a chance I have to take !
Question Author
Awww, well good luck and all that sort of thing... I just want mine sorted and done with too. Fed up of all this nonsense.
something wrong with the world when young(ish) people get stuck with pain; it should by rights be reserved for senior citizens like me. I can't offer any advice but good luck to both of you.
I started this a couple of weeks ago to help me ween off my current painkillers.

Bloated stomach, Sickness, Headaches and general feeling odd most days are my side effects. Although have begun to wear of a bit now. With regards to pain relief it is not a patch on what I am weening from now and if it were not for the fact that I have become quite dependant on my current painkillers I would be ditching the Naproxen.
I wish all the pain sufferers relief asap because it is a real drain on you every day, day in day out. After nearly two years I am at the end of my tether with my ankle pain and have no idea where to turn to next to try and fix it. No-one should have to be in pain every day!
Sorry for the mass posting. I am on a higher dose of Naproxen also but I wouldn't choose to take it given the option, but I am rather sensitive to all prescription drugs.
I cant remember any side effects from taking Naproxen tbh.. maybe talk to your gp hun x

Thanks GF (how's the job going?) and looby, I'm hoping they kick in soon, I just can't see that they're doing much more for the pain in my heels than when I wasn't taking them but perhaps it'd be worse if I didn't have them... I've got an appt friday week with another consultant so we will see.
if you have been taking every dose since monday, you should have seen a difference to the pain by now if they are going to work. I had it but never had any side effects, just didn't work at all
Question Author
Thanks bednobs. I've not noticed any difference at all really :-/ Seeing the doc next friday will be quicker than seeing my GP anyway so will discuss it with him. I don't even know if the heel pain is connected to the leg/hop pain that started this whole silly business. Just want it sorted.
