I'm a little bit scared of strong winds. I always have been for some reasons, and yet I love thunder.
Weird.
Anyway I'm curled under a quilt being a little bit scared

Hi Mojo....We've been in contact this evening on another thread but as I hadn't spoken to you before, I thought I would check -out your profile. It appears you are a fairly new member of AB to which I heartily welcome you....it's a great site if you are able to disregard a few Nurds who can be offensive.

You mentioned Thunder. My wife Viv and I always enjoyed...

Gale force here too, though must brave it, so if I do not return, it's been great meeting you.
Question Author
lol.
Be brave Mamalynne *sniff*, be brave.
It is brisk and wet here, so I am staying indoors.
Have put plenty ballast in my pockets to hold me down, think of me.....here I go.
Question Author
mamya. Take a kitten. It's not safe to go alone!
My dog is terrified of the wind when he's indoors. He shakes and pants and drools and tries to squeeze into the tiniest of corners. When he's outside it doesn't bother him one bit! It's really windy just now so he's out on the veranda, happy as Larry....
Not too bad here, we've been up on the cliffs this morning watching the shipping - lovely stuff. Stiff breeze but nothing more so far!
Have returned looking like the wreck of the hesperus , laden with provisions and have a tray of sausage rolls crisping in the oven if anyone would like one with their afternoon cuppa.
Question Author
Nom!
I don't get the "Nom!" reference, sorry.
Think it is similar to 'Yum' factor, would you like a saussie roll?
I for one am glad that you've returned safely & will happily scarf down every sossie roll you've got!
Ah YUM. I known that one. Never heard of NOM, I wondered if it was some sort of textspeak abbrevation like LOL, CBA etc or was a reference to NoMercy! When I was kid we always said "mmm, Bisto"- based on a TV advert I recall.
"Aaaah Bisto" factor.

Maj, you could have my last saussie roll♥
Yes you are right, mamyalynne! It was indeed Aaaah, Bisto.
Nomming is scoffing...puicked it up with many visits to the LOLCats Can I haz cheezeburger site...

Love really wild weather. especially by the sea...stood on a beach a couple of years ago 70mph wind at one stage caught my clothes so much I go dumped on my ar%e brilliant...the gazebo nearly took off today in one gust and it was whistling around the eaves....love it
Question Author
Apologies. Nom is food or eating food.

You mentioned Thunder. My wife Viv and I always enjoyed having the bedroom curtains open and watching the lightening at night; until we were hit by it in July of last year. Not a lot of damage to our house, but it did cause an electrical surge through the house which wrote-off our computers, TV. Bedside Radio, DVD. Music Keyboard and put the Telephones out of action. Consequently we are now somewhat fearful of thunder storms and had a stunner a week back and we went around the house disconnecting all electrical items.

Best wishes Ron....the lesser half of vivandorron.
Question Author
wow Ron!
Firstly, thank you for the welcome :)
That must have been scary, but I still think I would find it thrilling, albeit I'd be a bit narked if it blew up my computer!
I'm glad you're both ok.
When I was younger, I used to get in the car and follow thunder. Still do if the storm is good enough.
Calm here at present, I'm visiting in North Wales, so much cooler than the south, but no wind or rain so far..............but rather chilly........feels like Autumn is near!.....Going back down south in a day or so, warmer there!.........
