I had a stroke in 2006 and on being dicharged from hospital I was put on Persantin Retard 100mg twice a day.On having my perscription review last week at the doctors, he has stopped them and said I should have been on them for two years only.Could you please tell me why this should be.My old Gp retired last year and this is first time I have seen this new doctor,I know I should have asked him myself but as usual you forget these things.Thanks.

I cannot see any rational reason to stop taking Persantin after 2 years and can only suggest that you ask for an explanation.
