OK it might not be as harsh as the title suggests but im in a bit of a pickle and its something so stupid yet I dont know how to get out it without looking like an imbecile.
A friend called me a couple of weeks ago but I didnt answer the phone as Im not that much of a phoney person i.e. Im not always in the mood for talking, so I didnt answer her. She rang me again and I didnt answer it again.
Now, she has called me twice lately and I did not answer the phone as I hadnt thought of an excuse as to why I was not talking to her.
She obviously knows that I am ignoring her as she can hear my phone ringing.
I thought about getting another sim card and putting it on another phone and telling her I had changed my number and thats why I wasnt answering her calls but that would be such a bad lie as she would know my phone is off.
I want to speak to her, I want to call her! I just dont know what excuse to give to her as to why I have been ignoring her calls and not returning them lately. Im just bad with phones.

If you're free and over 21 and you don't want to answer your phone, you don't have to.
That's it.
Just tell her the truth?! Otherwise your not being a very good friend to her.

call her and say you have been a bit down in the dumps lately and didn't want to speak to her, because she gets the emotional side out of you and you would have started to cry and you didnt want her getting upset about you!!

Ladyalex if she asks why I wasnt answering or returning calls and I say cos I didnt feel like she will think Im mad at her which Im not.
Forget excuses and all that SIM card malarkey, just tell the truth: apologies... tell her that you weren't in the mood to talk initially, then subsequently felt guilty.
Just call and say " Hi I havent heard from you in ages"
Or give me her number and I'll phone and explain ;-p

I do it all the time and my friends don't seem to mind....
just say you've been a bit down and havent felt like answering the phone. Nothing to do with her or anything she's done. Its not you its me.... lol Although if she rings in future you cant keep using that excuse.

filthiest... don't expect her to pick up when you do call though ;-p
Call her up and tell her you havent been in touch lately because you had a problem with your phone. You had it in your bag with a small salad and the salad leaked on the phone and stopped it working. You have now managed to get it fixed by taking it to the o2 orange whatever shop for cleaning. (This is what really happened to me, but I got someone to lend me a spare phone. Salad oil can really screw up your phone!)
grasscarp.. a cunning plan indeed!

I don't know whether to be impressed or slightly worried!
tell her you've got tinnitus and it's really annoying..........
I cant beleive how sneaky you all are!
Be impressed Sara. It has comes from years of making up stories to cover the scrapes I get myself into. Always mix up lies with truth until they become believable. And have a very good memory!
your card is marked ;o)
by the way filthiestfis, nobody can actually hear YOUR phone ringing, they hear a signal but it does not imply that you have received it.
