anyone got any information on this? i cannot find anything on the www whatsoever!! it has been suggested my son may have it due to his irrational fear of white noise e.g. sound of a hoover, hairdryer etc

its over-sensitivity to particular sounds. try searching the internet using the american term, 'hyperacusis'
