About 3 nights ago I awoke suddenly having had the most horrendous nightmares and the next night I awoke with uncontrollable shivering and I was so so cold, lots of blankets and extra duvet on my bed, so I seemed warm (didnt have the central heating on though), however, I was at the same time lathered in sweat....what was this all about ?????

my dad woke up at 5:00 the other morning after having nightmares and he was shivering quite violently, hes now been in hospital for 3 days. dont want to worry ya but it sounds similar.
I get a really wierd cold sweat just before I have a meniere's disease vertigo attack, it's really quite scary.

Could you be coming down with something?
Perhaps phone NHS 24 for advice.I would as thats what they are there for and are extremely helpful.Hope all is well x

I can honestly say I have never experienced any symptoms like these before, could it be due to the really low temperatures we have been having, I have had a mild cold but it didnt turn into flu or anything worse...and I feel fine otherwise. It just scared me a little.....
Maybe your coming down with something. Just take it easy and if you have any worries contact your Doc or NHS24.

Someone I work with told me it sounded like a mild form of hypothermia....
suspected, collapsed lung, pneumonia or pulmonary embolism, he had real high BP which i why they took him in. Sorry, didnt mean to worry ya. hope you feel better soon. :-)
Dont torment yourself as you can quite probably be making yourself anxious now which also causes symptoms -phone NHS24.
Have no idea if you are male or female but it couldn't me menopausal could it?
Question Author
Am female Jenna....but fingers crossed NOT quite the menopause yet....lol (I hope).
Maybe it was just something to do with the nightmare, they can seem very real. I doubt it was anything serious as it would have gotten progressively worse.

Having done some research on the net, I think Im suffering from anxiety, had a lot going on lately......and most of my symptoms seem to match this ......
Oooo! I know how that feels RR, the thing is you may suffer it again until you've got your anxiety out the way, I had the same a few months back, & I went out & bought an electric blanket kept it on low through the night and "Touch Wood" problem solved.
Jem.
No big deal....very common condition in women.....often unknown cause.

Give it a couple of weeks and if it doesn't settle then see your GP as it will need blood tests to exclude a hormonal cause.
