My wife has just had a mammogram and has been told she has pre-cancerous cells and has to go into hospital to have them removed. What are pre-cancerous cells and can this lead to anything else and what does it entail. Thanks

Precancerous cells are damaged cells that tend to be malignant over time. However some cancers have well defined precancerous precursors and some do not. It is best to remove them before they spread.

Please give your wife my kindest regards and I hope she gets well soon.

My wife also had breast cancer.
