Is there a term for feeling someone elses fear?

I was watching a program the other day of someone trying to conquer their vertigo but I was shaking with them as though I was doing it too. Is there a term for involuntarily feeling an emotion by watching someone else experiencing it?

oops too late....alba got there before me....lol

yea its empathy....being able to feel (to a greater extent) someone else's fears, emotions, etc, but still keepin your own emotions under control....
Definitely physchology of some kind LOL
