got dumped after 2 weeks of my girlfriend being on holiday

Me and my now ex were talking about getting a place together before she went away to brazil for 7 weeks. we'd been together for nearly 2 years.
After 2 weeks she text me saying that i deserve better, someone that wont go away and leave me for 7 weeks and that she doesnt feel as strongly for me as she thinks i do for her. she said that she just wants to be free and doesnt want a boyfriend right now.
she gets back in a weeks time and we havent talked since, dont really know what to say to her but i still love her and care about her.
do you think shes telling the truth?
do you think there is any chance of us getting back together?

sorry to say this DPSA, but i really dont think it is a wise choice to get back with her! It looks to me that she wanted to play the field whilst away, and split with you to clear her conscence.

sorry mate, but if i was in that possition, no matter how much i loved someone, i dont think i could take them back, as i'd always wonder why they had dumped me like that, and what happened whilst they were away, and worry that it might happen again.

well i have to say that she's never lied to me and i do believe that shes not the kind of person that will just sleep around.

to be honest i dont think we will get back together but im holding onto the hope of it until i can talk to her face to face about it. i want to be with her, so im not giving up without a fight.

if we cant sort it out im not sure what i'd do, she still wants to be friends and said that im still her best friend, i know more about her than anyone and she does with me.

Is it even possible to go from being to gether to just being friends?

no dont throw in the towel she may have just told you those things to set you free while she was away for 7weeks it`s a long time to be waiting around for her.you know the saying if you love someone set the free this may have been just her frame of mind at the time she could be regretting them words now, speak to her and sort this out.

7 weeks is hardly a long time tho is it? It's not as if she had moved out there and it was a long distance relationship, she was coming back.

I hate to say it but it does sound like she suddenly discovered a whole new leash of life once out there and wanted to stop herself feeling any guilt if anything did happen (not saying it did) why else have the sudden change of heart?

I also think she is only trying to make herself feel better by telling you that you are still her best friend. Nice 'friend' dumping you by text whilst out of the country!
Personally I would make her sweat by having no more to do with her, let her struggle with her conscience, you've done nothing wrong. Sorry if thats not what you wanted to hear :o(
