It could just be a blocked follicle or could be caused by irritation. However, you should get it checked. Doctors have seen it all before, there is nothing to be embarrassed about, and it's better to get it checked and cleared up than to suffer in silence.
just get it checked out only way to be sure
As Pigletion says - from google

The two Bartholin's glands lie next to the entrance to the vagina. They make a small amount of mucus-like fluid. A cyst (a fluid filled swelling) sometimes develops from a blocked duct that drains the fluid from a Bartholin's gland. Sometimes a gland gets infected, which may then develop into an abscess. Antibiotics may cure an infection or abscess.
As Pigletion says it will probably be a blocked follicle, they are quite painful and embarassing as you want to itch yourself below all the time. If it is that, they'll give you a cream to apply to the area for a couple of weeks.
Either:
1) Urethral Caruncle
2)Bartholin's Cyst.

Put your money on Urethral Caruncle
Question Author
what are these?
carrot99 has told you what a Bartholin's Cyst is in the above thread.

Urethral Carnucle is a polyp (benign growth) at the neck of the urethra....it looks like a red blob. It may be symptomless, or it may cause bleeding or pain and bleeding on intercourse.
Also urinary symptoms may be present...burning when you pass water.
Treatment is by oestrogen creams or if that fails then surgical excision (minor operation)

To be certain, you should see your GP for examination.

Extremely unlikely to be malignant.

apply some tea tree oil that should stop the spread of infection =)
ummm...STD?...anyone? the words itchy should set alarm bells ringing. could be a big spot though, we ladies do get them down there. get a mirror, investigate and see your gp! i would not wait to get my bits checked out, nor base my treatment on what some odd bods on the net say (btw - i am including myself in that description!!!). i just like my bits too much. good luck x
If you have had unprotected sex you need to go to your local STD clinic. You at least need to see your GP, whatever it is ,it can be easily sorted with medical treatment.Don't sit there uncomfortably worrying go and get it sorted !
