This problem is driving me mad now! My hair moults all the time - it goes down my back, makes me itch, covers every top I put on etc etc.....it's not literally coming out in clumps, just single hairs and lots of them! When I take my top off at night the inside is covered in them even though I'm constantly putting my hand down and removing the damn things! I did in the past try a homeopathic remedy for 'falling hair and brittle nails' - which was a werid white melt on the tongue pill - it didn't work. Is there anything I could try possibly that may help this annoying problem? Thank-you

You could be lacking iron, poss tie your hair back or platt it to stop the hair going down your back but go to your doctors to rule out anything underlying it may be.
2 things come to mind.

1) Stress
2) Hypothyroidism.

Your GP will arrange blood tests and probably send a hair samole to the hospitla for analysis.
My hair does this too and its quite long.
I think that stress is the main problem for me.
Loads of it fall out and then it will be ok again for a while.

I am only 30 :-(
Like I said, it's not falling out in an alarming way i.e in handfuls that would show - just enough to annoy and irritate. I thought there might be a simple solution like a specific vitamin or something that may have helped. I'm not keen on going to my docs and they're not really very helpfull on the odd occasion I do go!
my hair has been like that for years, yet I have loads of the stuff still, my hair is long and wavy, cannot work out how I am not bald by now!
Wear a plastic cape when brushing & grooming your hair. Shake hair off cape till needed again.
There are a mixture of vitamins and minerals to take to stop your hair falling out, you can get them from the chemist's and need to be taken for 3 months. On top of this there are essential oil capsules to massage into your scalp once a week for 3 months. Hairdressers recommend doing this 'cure' in autumn. However, it's not cheap but does help.
