my question is:
You know when you get that feeling that your bladder is so full, you're going to wet yourself?
Should I resist going to the loo, Until I know my blader really is full?
Or should I go each time I get the feeling, even though i only do a bl00dy teaspoon?

Go! The more you pee the better it is for you and drink lots of fluids.
When the urge to void takes you then go, even though it is a teaspoonful.

Didn't you post earlier in the week and the advice was to see you GP? If I am mistaken, I aplogise.

no, it wasn't me.
I know i should go to gp really, as i've had it for over a fortnight now and it's not getting any better.
I am drinking loads of cranberry and water but it's not shifting. I've bought some stuff from the chemist now and so I'll see how it goes. thanks x
Sounds like you need antibiotice crisgal, dont suffer!
Don't any of you HOLD on to your urine my brother in law suffered severely with Rhumatic Fever & had to go into Hospital screaming with pain the Consultant asked him if he ever held on to his water because he told him by retaining urine, uric acid could leach through the wall of the bladder & play havoc with your system.
My god crisgal how have you held on for 2 weeks whilst suffering from this? You really need to get yourself to the doctor and get treated properly for this. I had cystitus some years ago, the infection tracked upwards and turned into a kidney infection which was horrendous.
Get yourself to a doctor asap!!!

oops - too late now, sue11. but I will defo go on monday morning.
Cystitis is awful isn't it, it makes me want to go to the loo just thinking about it! I believe that although you were doing the right thing, drinking cranberry juice and lots of water, these are more preventative measures rather than a direct cure, which may be why it has not cleared up. The right medicine should clear the worst symptons in a day or two and then it should all be gone in a few days. If you ever get blood in your urine, you should immediately get yourself to a doctor, that is what I had and I was booked in straightaway to see the doctor.
Good luck I am sure you will all be sorted soon!
I suffer with cystitis so often, its worse than being in labour!!
You must go to your emergency gp immediately, you could end up being seriously ill if the infection travels up to your kidneys, which it may have done already.
this is called Pyelonephritis as can seriously damage your kidneys, leaving scarring and can cause high blood pressure for life! which in turn brings its own problems.
All you will need is antibiotics, dont leave it till monday, the longer you leave it the more damage can be done!
call your out of hours service straightaway!!
Hi Crisgal

I have kidney failure.... My right kidney will,, hopefully, be removed this year.

I suffer from recurrent cystits/kidney infections. I "generally" have at least one infection every 6 weeks and it is agony, I am now on antibiotics constantly until my kideny is removed.

Please go to the doctor as I thought cystitis was a "normal" thing to have and didnt go to the doctors and here I am today in constant pain with my kidney.

My consultant has given me some "food" tips though -

Potatoes can aggrevate a kidney problem so when boiling them, bring them to the boil, throw the starchy water away, re fill pan with clean water and finish cooking, this will minimise the amount of starch.

Same goes for pasta too!

No coffee, tea, chocolate as all of these have caffeine in them and this is a diaretic - same goes for painkillers and some other over the counter and prescription medicines....

I didnt know any of this before so I am now on a very strict diet and it does help kidney problems or people with re-current kidney infections and such like.
