The instructor at my gym suggested that I should have a smoothie for my lunch. So everyday I prepare a concoction of natural bio yogurt (500 ml) plus a combination of bananas, apples, pears etc.plus a helping of wheatgerm. I have been happily consuming this tasty treat everyday for 3 months now.

My question is; is there any dietry harm from consuming such relatively large amounts of yogurt?

Large amounts of dairy products can be mucus-forming, but it doesn't happen for everyone. I used to have real trouble clearing my throat after I drank milk or ate yogurt. If you don't notice that it's probably not an issue.
well it's fairly high in fat. but if you go to a gym you must be fairly active. so maybe you're ok
There is a theory that all dairy products encourage cancer, because all dairy - even organic - has growth hormone in it.  Also, as a source of calcium, dairy is not good as, although alkali,  it's acid-forming, which causes your body to look for calcium ... and takes it from your bones!   I'm still drinking milk in my coffee and eating cheese, but I thought you should be aware.
Why not make smoothies using apple juice and lots of juiced fruit?!?! Far healthier than all that dairy.
