I think the highlight of the day for them is getting their leg over LOL
it probably matters more to my fella than it does to me.

Lakitu!!! LOL

You're probably right!

My husband always cooks me a beautiful meal, and he buys me a gift and some flowers. He moans about it, but does it all the same. I buy him a gift too.
LOL, I'll bet he doesn't complain when it comes to getting his leg over though! :p

Gotta go x
As a woman it isnt that important to me now. I like to give my bloke a present but I dont think hed be bothered anyway but I like to treat him. My ex hated valentines he started off buying me stuff but its as if I was forcing him to our last valentines he gave me a teddy dog which I realised when I went into newsagents next day hed got from the front of a magazine.
i make sure that 365 days a year is valentines for my sexy lady but on valentines i push the boat out and do something extra special for her! and im sick and tired of people saying ''oh its just a thing by the card companies'' and ''why do i have to be told to spoil my partner'' now listen, some women/men are lucky if they get a glance the whole year round,so these people have to be reminded that LOVE is all there is, love, nurture, cherish your loved one like you did when you first met............because if you don]t............someone else will...............and then dont come crying down the road that ''you dont know what you've got till you've lost it cr@p'' the time is now!
my bloke doesnt have to love, nurture me, cherish me everyday for me NOT to go off with someone else.
One year I got my ex loads of things. I'd thought about it and got lots of little things which I thought would be nice. We'd been seeing each other for 6 months and he'd moved in with me.

We worked together but I was off for the day. When he arrived home I gave him all my little pressies and he gave me some flowers and chocs which I thought was nice. I went into work the next day was told by a colleague that he had had to prompt him to go and buy me something as he hadn't even thought about it! I felt like a right idiot having gone and got him so many things.

Never doing that again!

4getmenot,yeah that came out wrong,im not saying that that you should cherish etc..to not be cheated on because in my past...that never stopped me! but what im saying is that if cherishing, nurturing loving does'nt come natural with the partner your with....then obviously your with the wrong partner...true?
As a child I believed that I would fall in love with the first man I saw when I woke up on Valentine's Day. I looked out of the window for the milkman or the postman - but it never happened :>)
yer I understand now. I know without my bloke showering me with kisses every minute that he cherishes me by little things he does :-) I mean theres cherishing and then just being a bit psychotic isnt there? lol
I'm not a man, but answering anyway. It means absolutely nothing to me whatsoever. Who needs a special day to show they love someone. It's now just another money making day for the retail trade as far as I am concerned.

Simply not true in our house noknowledge. An unexpected gift occasionally is worth so much more than anything on valentines day.
maybe they need to change valentines day to ''anti-recession day!'' you know a day when people can come around and just throw money at you!
@tigger hahahaha! that had to have been made up as a joke! GREAT JOKE!
I agree with lottie, the stuff on sale for valentines day looks like cheap corny tat, I prefer love and appreciation to be shown without a bloke feeling that he has to because its valentines day.

what a waste of money
I also agree with LL.

I'm not the slightest bit interested in Valentine's day & all the hype that goes with it!

My husband often buys me flowers or little gifts throughout the year, so Valentine's day passes without a second thought!
