Any chest pain should be investigated by a doctor as a matter of some urgency just to be on the safe side! It may be a pulled muscle, indigestion or a chest infection etc. but only a doctor can tell you the correct diagnosis and advise you on how to treat it.
do you have any other symptoms?
is the pain when you move, what does the pain feel like?

Any chest pain unless a known or obvious cause should be checked out.

I used to get chest pain from acid reflux and still get it due to slipped ribs and inflammation of the bit where the ribs join down the front.

Get it checked out first to rule out anything heart related or bad then the doctor may be able to find the cause if something else.

It could be that you've torn or bruised an Intercostal muscle, which is the 'meat' between your ribs (basically what you eat when you have Spare Ribs). I have pulled one of these a few times and it can be agony. When you breath in, it feels like someone has stuck a knife between your ribs. Nothing to worry about though. Will clear up with some painkillers.
