ganglion removal

i have a small ganglion on the inner side of my right wrist....right on the joint....and it has been causing a bit of bother....not painful but if i am carrying something heavy-ish it sometimes 'pings' something in my wrist. im thinking bout getting it removed but im a wuss when it comes to doctors, pain etc....anyone had one removed?

yes, hitting it with the family Bible - ie the biggest object likely to be found around the house in the old days - does sometimes break it up. It's a somewhat unscientific remedy but scalpel-free.

I had one removed by surgery a few years ago. It was only a small one but very painful. I've been left with a 2" scar. Before you contemplate surgery I would recommend you ask your GP to try draining it with a needle.
The operation left my hand useless for about 2 weeks.
