I've got this horrid virus that seems to be going round and have had only about 2 hours sleep a night (if I'm lucky!!) for the last week.

The cough is appalling and I finally gave in this morning and rang the Doctor for advice.

For once the information was excellent, olbas oil in a bowl of boiling water inhaled for 2-3 minutes every couple of hours. She told me that the cough linctus' out there wouldn't be any help and she's right as none have helped so far.

I already feel better and hope to have a reasonable nights sleep tonight which will make things even better.

If anyone else has got this hope this information helps and I wish you better soon.

I had an awful nights sleep last night, just couldn't settle and felt worse throughout the day, all my glands are swollen and painful and feel sick and all headachey.

My boss has it too which is bad news as will have to try and drag myself in tomorrow as only the two of us can sign cheques, send monies etc... and he looked worse than me when he went home this morning.

Urgh....
Muh!! Me too,
Had it for a week now, I'm taking so many painkillers/decongestants etc that I've had to start taking indegestion remedies because they're rotting my stomach!! Not getting any sleep, ache from head to toe, and you dont even wanna know the colour of the crap that coming off my chest!!! All this and 2 kids to deal with..... Why cant they find a cure?!?!?
get a grip i have suffered from this virus for 3 weeks plus you will cough up and pee ureself!!!
omg not office staff what can one do,hang on go into work cos i dont get paid for the first 3 days, but i still have to pay the rent and council tax!!!
I feel like sh1t this morning too, went to the hospital yesterday to get my 3rd cycle of chemotherapy and they found I've got MRSA! I've also got a big abcess on my gum so I'm feeing a bit sorry for myself, on top of that I've got to take 16 tablets twice a day of the chemo, 8 antibiotics and 4 pain killers, I'm sick of the sight of tablets, rather have a virus any day as unpleasant as it is.
Blimey Gelda, sorry to hear of your problems. Think thats put an end to the sniffling moans!

All I can say is that I hope all of you feel better soon.

Gelda I can totally sympathise with you, although I am lucky in that I'm not having chemo.

I am having a blood test today to check my cancer status and to have that I have to stop taking tablets, which also makes me feel crap. But at least I can start them again once I've had the test and most of the symptoms go thankfully.

Good luck with the abcess and MRSA too - hope you are feeling better soon. xx
I thought I had a virus but it turned out to be whooping cough. It is an epidemic where I live.

Only solution was antibiotics.
Still got the cough not so bad now,at one stage thought i would be sick coughing, thats about 3 to 4 weeks down the line,i wish i could just opened up my chest and get the cunge out blinkin awful!!!

puddi, if you feel like the cough is on your chest and you are coughing up junk over that amount of time you should really see your doc. Sounds like a chest infection which needs antibiotics to really clear it up.

hope you feel better soon xx
I am sorry you are suffering & hope you are better soon but my advice is to go into work and give the virus to everybody else. Dont suffer alone.
thanks chickadee for your sound advice, but squitty dont get paid for the first 3 days of sick leave, thats from the 1st december new ruling!!!
