Hi guys,

Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to have new lenses put into glasses frames, or does it vary from shop to shop?

I'm trying to decide if I just want my lenses replaced or if I'm gonna treat myself to new frames too!

Thanks,

If you have a Asda near you with an optician
go there as our local branch is ace ..not
expensive ..and designer frames from 60 ..
depends on your sight as to the cost of the lens
give them a try ..i've used them for 3 years with
no problems ...
I just bought some reading glasses in Primark ! They are a lovely red colour and look quite expensive .. 2.
I got mine done in Optical Express and for lenses in the same frames it came out at 80, but I get them thinned down. You can get them cheaper if you don't get them thinned
I work in Specsavers and it costs 39 for a single vision (ie not Bifocal or Varifocal lenses) reglaze. The lenses come with an Antiscratch coating as standard as well now.
i always use Direct Dpecs, you will need to take your eye prescription with you, dont ever feel forced to buy from the usual optician shops just because you have your eyes tested there, you pay for the test anyway but youre not obliged to have their products, some are a rip off in my opinion. i usually pay approx 50 for a pair of glasses for distance or the same for a pair of prescription sunglasses. Not sure if Direct Specs are nationwide, will depend where you are i suppose.
