burn baby burn disco inferno actually i wasnt looking for funny ha ha replys but what song would mean the most to you and why
I would have 'Drift Away' by Dobie Gray -

Day after day I'm more confused
So I look for the light in the pouring rain
You know that's a game that I hate to lose
I'm feelin' the strain, ain't it a shame

Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

Beginning to think that I'm wastin' time
I don't understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
I'm countin' on you to carry me through

And when my mind is free
You know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue
The guitar's comin' through to soothe me
Thanks for the joy that you've given me
I want you to know I believe in your song
Rhythm and rhyme and harmony
You help me along makin' me strong

because I am a music writer, and this seems appropriate, as well as being a slow soulful song.
Isnt AV just a tonic????

Every thread -we are truly blessed.

I have a number of songs for my Humanist Doooo -but im going into the kiln to Que Sera Sera -sung by Doris Day cos thats what I sang to my babies when I was nursing them to sleep and somehow seems very apt.

Dont want to spoil the fun with the rest of them- for them who will be there -suffice to say they will be laughing and singing along :)
Andy - Drift Away is one of my favourite songs....you've got good taste :-)

Think i'd have to choose 'Comfortably Numb'....Pink Floyd...and also 'All Kinds of Everything' by Dana....that would make everyone cry buckets....
prince charming- adam and the ants

I want them to do the dance, it will be compulsary
sorry Andy -missed your post -given your musical background then you prob 'understand' lyrics more than others -so that must be really apt for you -lovely choice.
One Day Like This - Elbow

Drinking in the morning sun
Blinking in the morning sun
Shaking off the heavy one
Heavy like a loaded gun
What made me behave that way?
Using words I never say
I can only think it must be love
Oh, anyway
It's looking like a beautiful day
Someone tell me how I feel
It's silly wrong but vivid right
Oh, kiss me like the final meal
Yeah, kiss me like we die tonight
Cause holy cow I love your eyes
And only now I see the light
Yeah lying with me half-awake
Oh, anyway
It's looking like a beautiful day
When my face is chamois-creased
If you think I'll wink, I did
Laugh politely at repeats
Yeah, kiss me when my lips are thin
Cause holy cow I love your eyes
And only now I see you like
Yeah, lying with me half-awake
Stumbling over what to say
Well, anyway
It's looking like a beautiful day
So throw those curtains wide
One day like this a year'd see me right
Dream a little dream by Mama Cass

Stars shining bright above you
night breezes seem to whisper
I love you
Birds singin' in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me.

Say "nighty night" and kiss me
just hold me tight and tell me
you'll miss me.
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading
but I linger on
dear
still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger til dawn
dear
Just saying this:

Sweet dreams til sun beams find you
sweet dreams that leave our worries behind you.
But in your dreams
whatever they be
dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading
but I linger on
dear
still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger til dawn
dear
just saying this:

Sweet dreams til sun beams find you
sweet dreams that leave our worries behind you.
But in your dreams
whatever they be
dream a little dream of me.

Sweet dreams til sun beams find you
sweet dreams that leave our worries behind you.
But in your dreams
whatever they be
dream a little dream of me.

Sweet dreams til sun beams find you
sweet dreams that leave our worries behind you.
But in your dreams
whatever they be
dream a little dream of me.

I used to go out with a funeral director. The family of one of his 'clients' asked for 'Love me Tender' as he was such an Elvis fan. Unfortunately, the back room boys at the crem got it wrong and played 'Return to Sender!!'
LOL. Quite appropriate really!!

I don't believe in funerals. My will states this:
"I desire that my body be cremated without ceremony and that my ashes be disposed of, also without ceremony, in any convenient refuse receptacle".

However, if you insist on me choosing a song, it's got to be Eric Idle's 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life'. It's obviously appropriate as an 'ending' (because of its use in 'Life of Brian') but it also summarises much of my personal philosophy.

Chris
Hey Chris, does that mean that you won't actually have a funeral?
