Folic acid is responsible for the fomation of DNA and for the succesful division of cells. Hence it is most important for the formation of normal blood cells and development of the nervous system. Deficiency of folic acid is well documented and easily Googled.
Haeoglobin is what makes the blood red and carries oxygen to the tissues and takes carbon dioxide and nitric oxide, as waste products from the tissues.
