The verb spun is probably a misnomer in that polypropylene is extruded into yarn (as well as other products). It can then be woven or pressed or otherwise developed into various fabrics or products...
All synthetic fibre is extruded into a continuous mono filament. This filament may then be cut or stretch broken
into a staple. These discontinuous fibres may then be grouped together and spun into yarn
