Hi all, I had our car broken into yesterday whilst in Tesco's in the daylight! Thankfully there was nothing of value in the car but the thieves took my uni bag with some books in. Surprisingly I got a call from my uni this morning saying an old man had found my bag dumped near his house (probably after the rascals realised they had no use at all with a bunch of law books!) and had rang them as my paperwork identified my uni n name etc...

Anyway I'm going to collect it from his house tomorrow and just wanted to get him a little thank you. Any ideas what? He's male and over 65, thats all I know!

xx

be careful if you are going on your own ..you never know ..
A similar thing happened to my daughter at Uni, altho she only lost her purse in a taxi....ther guy who found it looked her name up on MySpace, got hold of her dad and got it back to her, cards money and all. She bought him a box of celebrations!!!

Perhaps you could buy him some soft jellies in case he doesnt have his own teeth, bless him!!

How about a nice tin of posh biscuits? Don't know many old fellas who don't like a nice biscuit with their cuppa tea.
Soft jellies a box of biscuits ???? Get the guy a bottle of Malt whiskey for heavens sake, just becaus he is 65 doesn't mean he is into baby food.

If I were him I would be happy with a bottle of wine.

Even if he doesn't drink, he'll find a use for it next christmas.

wine and some chocs ok
Blimey Aprilis, being in the OAP age bracket, I am giggling at the thought of what my husband might say on receiving a nice tin of posh biscuits as a gift to have with his cuppa.

As others have said wine is always acceptable even if you don't drink it yourself. It's nice to have a bottle handy.

I know a police officer who lost his wallet the week before last and it had 70 cash inside it, the person who found it looked him up on facebook and returned it to him, so it's not such a bad world after all.

I would go with the biscuits idea; my grandad would like those, because of his medication he has to be careful re drinking, plus some people are funny about whether they drink red or white, and he could enjoy a nice biscuit with his tea. M&S do nice boxes and oldies tend to be impressed when they get something from M&S LOL
I can't believe some of the suggestions on here and have just showed Mr Moon( who is 63 and has all his own teeth).tastymorsels suggestion of a card and a voucher seems the best as he can buy what he likes then.Law books don't come cheap, I have bought enough of them for my daughter, so just think how much it would have cost to replace them.It restores your faith in human nature when someone does something so kind and compensates for all those thieving no marks.
