Anyone got any advice on how to harder up my nails. I have tried herbal nail supplements and use hand cream every night. I have times where they are better and I suspect it may have something to do with my diet, but I cant pin down what im eating or not eating that makes the difference. Thanks..

i use Jessica nail products. they have a "critical care" nail polish that hardens your nails. you do need to use it all the time though.
you could try that.
hi viz, i dont know if this is true but my auntie swears that eating jelly cubes makes her nails strong and stops them breaking.

I think magnesium is supposed to be good for this too.
I take one Omega 3 Fish Oil capsule every day & my nails are as hard as rock. Hope that helps. ;o}

I am taking cod liver oil tablets too but my nails are as soft as putty
Like pixi's aunt, my mum used to say that eating jelly cubes strengthened nails too. Why don't you ask in a pharmacy? They would probably be able to tell you what you need to eat, or what supplements you need to take.
Hi, the best thing I've tried is Mavala. You can get it at most chemists. It's around 8 a bottle but lasts ages as you only put it on the tips of your fingers once a week. Works for me and my Mum.

X.
Hi - i'd go with the jelly cubes answer. My mum used to eat them for her nails and they were like razors.
I have also used jelly in the past and found it too work.
Sally Hansen products are also food which you can find in Asda.
Hi Viz A great product is made by Revlon - called Nail Builders Calcium Gel - costs around 8.00 if I remember correctly. But a really effective product. I have told many people about this, and they have all sworn by it. It can also be used before you use nail polish and after as a top coat if you wish. Use it often - it REALLY works. Good luck.
