Apart from painkillers there is no medication that I know of. A grumbling appendix can settle down so it's a case of wait and see.
i was admitted to hospital with a grumbling appendix in 1983. It settled down after 2 days and has never bothered me since.
I also went to hospital but with suspected appenditis and eventually they diagnosed a kidney infection, although to this day I still believe it was my appendix as I had accute lower abdominal pain on the right which shot accross to the other side. Thankfully it never returned. I always thought that if you had it you must have the appendix removed immediately but from what I can gather there is a huge list of people waiting to have theirs removed. I think it's only life or death if the appendix ruptures.
