How many people are going to be working?

As far as I can tell from customers and friends, my firm appears to be the only idiots doing so!

My company is shutting down and friday should be most workers here last day!!
We go back on the 2nd Jan.
Finish on Mon 24th at 1pm then back in Thur & Fri, also no xmas party because they had one in 1991 and it didn't go well so they don't do one anymore.!!
We finish at lunch time on Friday, straight to a local hotel, which has been hired for us, where there is a buffet and free bar all day!!!
We then return to work on the 7th January after a lovely 2 week break!!!
Wahey!!!
Oh and we get a10% of our annual salary bonus tomorrow!!!
I'm getting a half day on Xmas Eve and Thursday off (both from my hols), in Friday and Monday 31st.

Everyone should close down for 2 weeks at Christmas!
blondie123, can I come and work at your place?

I've got two weeks off same as you but no buffet / free bar / christmas bonus - we didn't even have a christmas do this year, miserable gits!
I finish at some point on Christmas Eve (hopefully about 1500 hrs), have the weekend off plus Xmas Day and Boxing Day and am back in on the 27th. However, I work for the emergency services and will be expected to go to work at any point, in the event of a major incident. :o(. We don't have parties or bonuses and, if the Police pay rise is anything to go by, we'll be pulling our purse strings a little tighter next year too. I'm going out on Friday night though..yey! Have booked a table at a restaurant for a few girlies who all used to work together 10 years ago.
I finish work on Friday and 12, where we are then going to a posh pub for our xmas do, all on the Company, I am then back on on the 7th January. I work for a Construction based company and although we can come into the office over the Christmas period, there wouldnt really be much to do!

No xmas bonus though!!
Friday is our 2nd xmas party....we had a partners do a couple of weeks ago at a different hotel, a 4 course meal and disco!! that was a bit more formal this one just a free for all **** up!!! wahey
We had our xmas party on Sat night, dinner dance and free bar, all paid for by my boss, who, on the night, couldnt even make it, but he still paid for it all! we are working til 1 on Monday, then am back in the day after boxing day and only have new years day off! oh, jus got a xmas bonus too!
yip our office is open
Just got my pay slip...... i have been taxed 1006.68 for one month!!!!
Feel like crying!
GUTTED
Blondie123-you must be on a high salary!
Got a bonus this month for xmas...but it is stupid! hopefully will be able to claim some of it back at end of tax year!
we finish at 2 on xmas eve and i start at the pub at 4, my first complete day off will be 01/01/08 and i don't go back to work until 04/01/08, i can't wait
I will be finishing at about 12am on december 25th. And back to work 11am till 5pm on christmas day. And 6.30am till 10.30am and the 6pm till 12am on boxing day... Lucky me!
Chocolate Chip....do you work in a pub?
I used to be a duty manager in a hotel and had to work all of those horrible shifts....never again!!
NYE, xmas day, NY day, Xmas eve, boxing day....it was horrible no time for friends and family and we hardly got paid any extra either.

Yes, I do, as a waitress. It's pretty bad really although for my usual pay it won't be that bad. I get paid 4.95 p/hr and during the main 4 (i.e Xmas eve, boxing day, New years eve, and new years day.) is time and a half. And Xmas day is triple pay. But I'm working pretty much everyday except for 28th and 29th.
I work for local government (booo, hiss) and we are in on Christmas Eve, well everyone else is - I booked annual leave.
I'm working Christmas Eve and Boxing day, (Train Driver),
