If your medicine works it should start to ease straightaway. If you have a really bad dose of it, you may need antibiotics from the Doc which take a few days to kick in.
best thing is to go to docs straight away and get antibiotics, I;ve been told by some docs that the sachets from the chemists dont work they just ease the pain a bit
I agree with the above, the sachets don't work for me, but when i got antibiotics, I took the first one at 5pm and felt better by the next night (obviously I continued to finish the course but i felt relief in about 24 hours)
Hi suzyangel - also drink plenty of cranberry juice - it helps ease things! Hope you feel better soon.
cranberry juice doesnt ease things, it will just help it stop re-ocuring, it is thought to stop bacteria sticking to sides of the bladder wall.
It certainly helped me ! Worth a try...
Mix 1 teaspoon of bicarb of soda with 8oz water & drink. This changes the pH level of the urine, making it less acidic so it doesn't burn as much.
I have to say, none of the "traditional cures" worked for me, even to relieve symptoms! The only thing that removed my symptoms was the antibiotics which were my last resort!
