Anyone know anything about this? It sounds very interesting but a fee of nearly 1400 for four 1.5 hour instruction sessions seems ridiculous. It makes it look like a money-making scam. How can they possibly justify such high fees? See http://www.t-m.org.uk/learning.shtml

Oh boy is it a scam. If you take the trouble you can find all you need to know about meditation on the net. Instructions in great detail, hand holding, etc. Please dont encourage this sort of rip off by even acknowledging there greedy advertisements.
David, why don't you go to Waterstones or suchlike and treat yourself to a book on meditation, there are many under mind body and spirit section, and much cheaper. Meditation is like most things, it comes easier with practise and there are different forms of meditation.

Thanks david and eyeshade for your comments. I have read books on meditation and have done quite a bit in the past but these people claim TM is different from and more effective than some other forms of meditation. For the amount they charge, I can't see it can be anything other than a scam but I was interested to hear people's experiences of it.
some controversy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcendental_Me ditation

(see about half way down the page).

Can I just add that for a mere half what they're charging I'll teach you the secret of life an achieving one-ness with the Godhead, and we can spend a month on it if you like.
How can they possibly justify such high fees. Simple answer is they can't. They are ripping off the vulnerable, but then that's religion for you. My advice is go with Whicker, David - it'll be a lot cheaper and far more effective.
Does it whiten your teeth like the girl in the photo?
Or maybe she was a he before starting the course!

What a bargain Whickerman. I am considering taking up your offer but I wonder if anyone else is prepared to make a better offer. I would consider just going for the secret of life and not bothering with the Godhead if that would mean a healthy discount. Although, I am in possession of an ancient text that suggests that the secret of life is "42".
I'm following you around this morning Theland - I knew you'd come up with a bargain eventually! :o)
That was my holiday photo!
