It does no good just to wish for that type of guy. The wish must be clarified. I want to marry a builder, someone useful like that who will actually use those skills to be useful for me!!!!
I have no idea where you'd find one.I know exactly what you mean though. My fiance works in a bank and is scared silly of power tools so all DIY ends up being done by me.
...yellow pages...?

hmm Engteach has a point!! he better be useful (or rich) otherwise I'll kick him out
Tradesmans house's are always the last place to get jobs done - until it is really bad. I used to go out with a plumber ,his dad was a plumber too, and their bog flushed by putting your hand in the cistern or the builder who had string ( I mean garden twine NOT funky leather straping) to open and shut his doors. Rich who doesn't mind calling someone in is your best bet. lol.
You marry a builder and you will need a mechanic, you marry a mechanic you will need an electrician etc...I suggest you marry a rich man and you will be able to afford to hire all the above!!

Hmm okay, where do I find a rich guy in manchester then?
Go to the posh shops and help the mugee not the mugger ... lol.
ska!! u r hysterial, u r a short, feisty bird, learn some DIY yourself and impress any geezer with your talents, and men find it a turn on if u talk techinical!!!!

if i mention a screwdriver, my boyfriend is draggin me upstairs, or if i mention something about a computer, he gets all dirty!!!
SKA- When you find him, point his Rich American cousin in my direction. :)
I always said I wanted to marry someone like my Dad, who could mend just about anything. He taught me to knit (my Mum worked late evenings), rebuilt endless cars, reupholstered a suite, gardened like Titchmarsh, plastered, decorated, made pastry better than Mum.

I am much like him and will tackle most things (tho I will skip rebuilding cars) and so I knew I would be happiest with a man like Dad.

I am lucky to have found one. He is a painter and decorator by trade but will tackle most things. He is also kind, loving and supportive.

I think this kind of man is rare these days, as proven by a recent survey. Which is a shame for all you young women out there.

Ilm with a carpenter, we bought a new coffee table from argos
4get, was he able to follow the instructions better than us mere mortals?
Cheries wants to get married ;-)
Been there Rev, as well u know; got the scars to prove it.
And so have you!
I love making things but he stole my thunder and did the whole thing :-) although yer I have to admit much better than last table where I put the bottom part on upsidedown and never noticed till about a year later
My Dad started making a coffee table in 1967. In 1971 he finished it off; except by then it was a hatstand. No word of a lie.
We'll see lol

Possibly a 3rd Nov proposal lol
Didn't realise I had that much of an effect on you Rev :o)
