I had to deal with a road traffic accident on the way home from work tonight, still shaking and feel sick. One of the two cars which collided on the main road spun and hit me on a side road too (only number plate damaged) but I'd never called 999 before. Just had to deal with it, there was an old lady in the car that hit me and she was in shock, emergency guy told me to get her away from the car as I'd said there had been spillage on the road and the old lady was clinging to me until the police, ambulance etc arrived. Then she was sick. All my adrenalin etc was on full and I now feel sick n sore but its just cos I was all hyped up. Chuffed I dealt with it as Im a wee nervous thing, but wish I hadnt had to, cant fix my number plate but it wasnt worth reporting really, only one screw burst, job for tomorrow now to find a large grub screw for it.
Hugs please lol

Crikey weeal - it can be damn scary being in a crash. You ok? Have a stiff drink/hot cuppa and try relax.
Ah hun,

I'm a first aider and have had to deal with lots of things, although only one car crash. Had to dial 999 quite a few times tho.

It's horrendous, the adrenaline is pumping, people are panicking, or, like the old lady, going into shock.

Make yourself a nice hot cup of tea (as long as you're sure you're not hurt) and try to relax a bit - it's over, and you did it! Well done you. Sounds like you did exactly the right thing.

thanks whickerman, i cant stop thinking about the older lady, she was so shocked but uninjured, I tried to eat something, will have a hot drink and try to keep calm. I didnt approach the younger guy who smacked into her car. xx
Well done for coping with it, weeal. You poor thing - I expect the little old lady was glad she bumped into someone like you! Did she get all the sympathy at the time & you were just left to get on with things? Have a nice G&T and put your feet up - you'll feel better tomorrow!! Luv (& hugs!) K :0)
Large hug, larger brandy, even larger still bar of chocolate - all on their way to you!

Well done for being strong for the poor old lady too. I hate to see anyone in distress - that sounds truly awful for you, and for her, but you'll be an angel forever in her eyes. xxx

thanks folks, i was unsure what to ask for so I asked for ambulance and police but they sent 2 fire engines as Id said there was leakage on the road and from one vehicle, turned out it was only coolant! I was a bit embarrassed and unsure if it was normal for fire bridage to come, what I was stunned about was all the blokes in work vans and others of course just driving on and leaving me to it!!! I had been sitting at the lights so the car behind me seen it all and just drove off.
Nice one weeal!!!!!

there must be something about vomit, I gave an american female casualty first aid in Bosnia, she wet and poo'ed herself as I was carrying her to the ambulance, as I was taking her pulse she sicked all over me, I can still feel and smell it to this day.

BTW, dont expect much sleep tonight matey
Well done weeal for staying and helping that old lady. Took guts to stay.
Hope you are alright but the thing you have to do is get behind the wheel of your car tomorrow and put this behind you.
Have a good night lass.
Take care. xx

Well done weeal, you did very well in a stressful situation! Don't forget you are a witness so maybe write all that happened down now whilst its fresh in your mind in case you are asked for it later by police/insurance company?

good thinking meglet, I think both the other cars ran a red light so equally at fault but it will surely be a battle by their respective insurers, I'll do that now
