What do you think of body piercings. I work in a secondary schools and two year 10's were showing me the belly button bars they had done over the hols. I couldn't have one cos I'm struggling to get rid of my belly and actually find my belly button :-(

I have a couple of tattoos so I couldn't complain if my kids wanted them when they get older, but would you have a piercing.

I must add I don't object to them as I suppose they can close up but is 14 a bit young to get them done?

there are a few kids at school get tattoos as well, but the girls love there bellies pierced .

Sorry meglet, they are year 10 not 10 year old - 4th years in my time
Gosh I thought I was the bees knees getting my ears pierced at 16 , now any body part is fair game .....lol.....
Goodsoulette , that corset piercing looks painful !!!
xx
at 16 I was naval, ears, nose and tongue.

Who is tattooing them????

Piercings are ok, although my daughter had her navel pierced at 15 and it only lasted 6 months due to 'migration'. It was a shame because it looked really pretty.

She now has a labret and snake bites. Nose next!

Is corset down below goodsoulette.
sorry for my ignorance.
I only had ears pierced twice - I was brave getting the tatts!!!
Now planning my next one
a corset is a set of surface piercing with loops so you can ace them up to look like a piercing...im going for an upper arm crset piercing but I am getting a sleeve (tattoo) on the other arm. I have a lot of tattoos too, got my first at about 15 or 16..

It's surprising how old some of them look Pippa - I was 30 before I dared to get a tattoo. My brother played the nick from school when he was 15 and got one. Suppose some people will just take the money.
they do look great belly piercings .....i had my nose done at the age of 30 .which i like a lot ,up to the parent to say what age they can have it done really
Its all down to personal choice, I had an Ampallang and a Prince Albert its just another form of art, I don't like to see too much on the face and some people do go overboard and I don't like it on youngsters but apart from that go for it!! same with tattoos!!!
Sorry, misread that. Personally wouldn't let my 14 year old get one (not that I have kids). I had a tatto at 18 (and had it removed 8 years later) so I'm not anti body art or jewellery but I think its bit too young for a belly bar. I had my ears pierced at 7 but think its way too young now.

Did you lie about your age to get tattos so young, Goodsoulette, or did your parents vouch for you.

My tattoos are on my back. I want a unicorn on my shoulder, and am currently looking for a design that I like enough before I get it done.
Have you regretted any of them?
And I had my tongue and ear pierced!!!
Question Author
tongue piercings make me feel sick - the kids love to show me them in class cos they know I cringe :-)
The navel piercing is ok at that age, however as I said before they can migrate the younger you are (so the studio told me!)

I think tattoos at that age aren't so good..but that's just my opinion.
In my sons school the kids with tongue piercings have to wear a flat disc instead of a ball.

Is that the same in your school, fathead?

Now I do feel sick Goodsoulette - that will really hurt. What if you get them caught on your clothes?
