Well it now turns out that I have Keratoconus in BOTH eyes. Yipee. :o|

After lots of tests at the hospital (including having my pupils dilated so that my eyes turned completely black and I looked like death and couldn't see anything!!) it seems that my left eye is at the extreme end of the scale and therefore it's likely that even rigid contact lens' won't work.

So I'm going to have to have rigid contacts specially made for my right eye, and a corneal transplant for my left eye.

Anybody out there got a cornea they don't need?

I have a brain going spare. You appear to need one of these.
Oh my god has anyone got a spare side as mine has just fallen off with Whiffey1's remark.

Try the Body Shop, 4get.
dont think I'll need to venture far many ABers with alot of sides here
A spare cornea ?....well, I can leave you one in my will , but you may have to wait a while :-)
Heya, Champers. My grandad had cornea transpants in both eyes, obviously at different times. He was about 75 when he had it done and he was fine. Its a bit squeamish thinking about it but Im sure you'll be fine.

Good luck x

(ps Ill see if I can pin my ex down and steal his for you)
what you need to do is wave a stick about 'cos as my mum always said "You'll have somebody's eye out with that".
I have that and my optician decided to just try me with a pair of normal Acuvue lenses just to see what happened and they worked! My vision isn't as good as with glasses, but it's good enough for everyday stuff.
I have to have rigid contacts especially made Champers, it's not so bad. I've had them since I was 14, my sight is only going to worsen and currently I can't do anything about it, no amount of surgery will fix it. But technology as far as eyballs go is improving all the time, so fingers crossed.

At least you have one eye that doesn't currently need a cornera and on will turn up soon enough!

I'm not worried about it Nat. I'm looking forward to having an eye that works better again! And the contacts won't bother me either. I refuse to wear jam-jar glasses though!!
