Thrush {infection of the mouth}

cure = nystatin
Question Author
Already thought of that one, but that makes it white and gives you a sore throat! (so i was told!)
so, dunno!
All infections don't necessarily manifest in the same way.

Thrush =

An infection of the mucous membrane of the mouth by a fungas, the Candida albicans.
it arises in older persons suffering from debilitating disease where there is lack of oral hygiene. Thus it is a preventable disease. it can be treated by application of nystatin

This is one possibility

But im not old :( and i always clean my teeth and often use corsydol or what ever it is called! :(
I did google it n it said there was a condition known as something along the lines of black tongue but it didnt really give much detail!
Just hope the dr can give me something to cure it quickly!
Look up the word ''Stomatitis'' and see if this helps
Question Author
Ohhhhh thank you, just looking at that, sometimes when i wake up in the morning & yawn the corners of my mouth both split, that may be connected, will make sure i mention that to the Dr tomorrow!

Do you drink red wine, this will stain the tongue too. Have you tried brushing your tongue with your toothbrush to see if it is removed?
Question Author
No warpig, mine looks worse :( its very 'fluffy' but its nearer the back & middle of my tongue so unless i poke my tongue out at some one, they cant see it!

Bigmamma, thank you! It has put me off my food, i tried to use the back of one of the tooth brushes with a tongue cleaner to get it off or clean it but it made me sick! Its the feeling of something always in my throat thats the worst

Hi wiggal
Sounds like you do have some sort of infection but Corsodyl can blacken your teeth and tongue. You may be using too often.
See your GP anyway.
Hope you feel better soon.
Question Author
Hi Cruella, thank you
I dont use Corsodyl that often, only since a few months ago when i had an infected wisdom tooth, course of antibiotics sorted it and have used it a little since then to stop any more problems!
