I live out on the isle of portland and I can see a huge scary load of clouds coming in across the sea. I mean, there is a nice clear blue sky and a complete LINE of black cloud mid way up the sky. Really not very nice at all. So, who would like to predict the outcome? Will it blow over? Come to nothing? Rain hard for a while? Or flood everywhere? I am sure we never used to have weather like this....

Hahaha Cazzz! Not me though, I am not a Portlander thankfully. The genuine ones are er.. a breed of their own, shall we say?
No weather yet... Although it has gone very hot.
Whats with all those funny looking shed things on the shore near the Portland Bill lighthouse. I believe they cost a lot of money to buy. What do the people do in them?
Question Author
Beach huts??! They do cost a bomb but only cos of their location. Amazing views etc, right on the edge of the earth.

I am going to put a bid in tomorrow. Stuff my villa in Spain, this is the place for me.
The weather always comes to Portland first and hardest, because you stick out more - if you know what I mean.

Too many bunnies bringing bad luck and rotten weather, that's where the fault lies. Daren't call them by their proper name, of course!
We went to Portland once. We were staying in Weymouth and decided to take a drive. The weather was awful - it was pouring with rain and really windy. Anyway, when we got there, no-one else was around, the pub was closed, light-house wasn't open and the kids wouldn't get out of the car because they'd get wet. Anyway, just as we were about to leave, hubby decided he needed a number two. He parked the car by the public loos and disappeared for a few minutes. Anyway, needless to say, my now teenage kids associate Portland as the place where Dad had a poo!

Yes unfortunately portland doesn't half get the weather. And when it is rainy it is so bleak and depressing. It's lovely in the sunshine!!
