I cant quench my thirst. Its been this way for a couple of days. I easily drank a gallon of a water yesterday and I think I might be about to top that today. My need for sweet foods hasnt increased but if im not constantly drinking water I startto feel a bit poorly, like being totally dehydrated.

Normally I drink mostly caffeine based drinks and was wondering if that had suddenly caused my body to react in that way. Only water is touching my thirst though.

Hiya,
I had the same last year & i thought as i didnt have an increase for sweet things etc that it wouldnt be diabetes, but i was wrong & i am a "borderline diabetic", which at the moment i control with diet.
So worth checking it out id say

xxx
Caffeine is a diuretic, which means it makes you wee, basically. Maybe your body has had enough of getting rid of water and wants to take some on board.

I always think you should listen to what your body needs and go with it. (Unless it starts whispering "...chocolaaaate eclaaaaaairs....daaaairy miiiiiiilk....twiiiiiiixxxxxxxx...." in your ear!!)

Thats what I thought nutgoneflake! Its just wierd that after 10 years plus of drinking nothing but tea, coffee, coke and squash
(and occasionally ridiculous amounts of tequila and cider) that my body has started begging for water.
have you been having too much salt? I can't eat gammon without feeling i need to drink lots of water afterwards.

No dot..... I did think about those kind of things and I don't even cook with salt.

I actually was sensible 2 minutes ago and thought why am I asking answerbank and phoned the doctors, hes gonna call me back after lunch and see what I should do then. I figured I would only convince myself I have some sort of liver disease other wise.
Seriously though, yes, get it checked if it's suddenly something different to normal xx

Thankyou :O)
a large glass of ice then pour a generous helping of ice cols 7up over it with a slice of lemon
just so you know, a craving for sweet things is most definately NOT a sign or symptom of being diabetic. and constant thirst is just one of a number of signs or symptoms which may point to a person being diabetic.
in that case 7up lite will do same job goody
