Hi
I am having my gromit in my ear removed tomorrow afternoon and my consultant said it should take a matter of 5-10 minutes and he will put me to sleep with Gas and Air.
Has anyone been knocked out by gas and air before? I want to know if I am going to feel really tired and groggy afterwards as I have quite a lot I need to do tomorrow night.
Thanks

Gas and Air does not put you to sleep, it relaxes you and gives pain relief. Was always used in my day for child birth. You should recover from the effects quite quickly.

see thats what I thought but my consultant definatley said I would be a sleep for about 5-10 minutes. Maybe I'm getting confused.
thanks
my son had gromits they fell out on there own .
I have been knocked out using gas (not gas and air though) to have 2 teeth removed.

Definitely do not try and drive afterwards, my mum drove me home and had to stop by the side of the road until I had been sick as a result!

Then I went home and went straight to bed and slept until the next morning!

Obviously everyone has different experiences but I was exhausted afterwards!
I've had gas several times - strange sensation of fallng, whirling - then it's all over.

Felt groggy for a few hours after, no ill effects and not an unpleasant experience.
