I have a 'sensible' question....but I am almost afraid to ask because things seem to go down the pan and disintegrate pretty quickly here.!!!! Well here goes...I work in an almost all female environment except for 1 part-time male worker...he generally seems a nice enough bloke but sometimes his humour is at sewer level constantly. None of us are prudes but we are all a bit uncomfortable with it and he doesn't seem to be aware that all of us --whether young or older ----can take only so much. We will leave the room as a group while he carries on laughing at his own jokes....what to do while being tactfull???

Don't be tactful, this guy is a jerk.
Tell him he smells.
Tell him he's ugly.
Tell him he's vile.....
he'll soon get the message. You really don't have to put up with his antics, UNITED YOU STAND.
send an annoymous note saying it is not called for in the workplace
falling that could you just not be direct and tell him , or start being derogatry about mens bulges in their trouser deparments and who you would all like to sleep with , it may get the message across , and embrasse him like he clearly does to you x
Just tell him if he's being inappropriate and let him know if makes everyone feel uncomfortable, I'm sure he won't mind as he probably doesn't realise he's causing offence, make sure that your colleagues are willing to back you up too, you don't want to ostracise yourself over it.
Tell your boss and get him sacked. (only joking) get the authorative one or the one in your group who he talks to the most, to take him to one side and explain that as a group you find his humour vulgar and uncomfortable. If he doesnt stop then get him sacked!!!!
Sorry to come here without intentions to answer, because I don't know what to say in this case, as I usually don't get offended easily and if I do I say in the person's face (but this might not be the best thing to do in a professional situation) but I wanted to let you know that I am ok, I disappeared for some days because I had a friend at home over Easter, and during last week I was going to the hospital almost everyday, remember? about that girl who lives in Stoke-on-Trent, she is from Brasil, married to an English guy and she needs a liver transplant... so I was there giving her some support.

But now I'm back and I already answer both you and lauren there in my question, with my email so have a look when you can :o)
Big hug!
Hey, Reina.
Glad you are having a nice time with friends. I read your posts in Relationships and felt lonely for you.
Stay on here, your advice and help is good.
Stay away from those nasty 'stereo-types', sadly that is most of the population of UK.
I plan on visiting Bras(z)il this year and need your advice and help on where to go and who to see.
Hasta amiga.

Thanks for all the advice ...will prob discuss the possible solutions with workmates> Women unite!!! Don't want to get him fired...just want to put the fear of god in him! Are any of YOU blokes??
I is bloke, and have a vulgar sense of humour, but I try just to not offend.

well it sounds like you try to be sensitive to others' feelings...but some people just blurt out whatever comes into their empty heads!...and age doesn't seem to make a difference..this guy is 47...should know better...
Wots all this pussy-footing around the situation involving the obnoxious retard: shoot him, set him on fire, and chuck him out the window. That'll learn him!
could it be that he's feeling intimidated by working with females only and feels a bit uncomfortable and the only way for him to deal with it, is to put on this facade?

I think if someone had a word with him and said you'd much prefer him as a person if he left the sordid stand up at home and just be eau naturelle at work
You mean you want them to parade him around naked at work happyface???? That's borderline harassment! I bet he'd be up for it. BTW, I am a bloke and my earlier advice is one of my best posts ever! I think I deserve stars for that effort pastafreak!
