One can only speculate on the future based on experience. Did they encourage you to believe in and rely on yourself or foster a dependence on them? If they helped you to put your life in perspective and made it easier to think about the things that matter, no harm no foul.

As for how accurate they are only time will tell but I would think twice about believing every thing they say because just believing can alter your pattern of behavior enough to change your destiny and in the end what you choose to believe and do are your responsibility.

I wouldn't allow them to do my thinking for me. Your life is your own to live. No one else can live it for you. The only real help one person can offer another is that which helps them to help themselves. You made yourself the person you are by what you believe and do and the only thing that really matters is where you go from here. Believing in yourself is not a matter of faith but the means for becoming a person you can believe in.

If this is not the answer you were looking for I apologize for what appears to be a sermon is only meant to give you something to think about and I hope it helps. And if I put you to sleep and it turns out that it was a nap you needed, write me a check when you wake up.
It's easy for a 'psychic' to give the impression they know all about you. For example, they'll say "you've had problems in your life" - and of course, you have - we all have. Many people go to see psychics when they have problems and these people are quite aware of that. And what do most people's problems involve? Health, money, love. If they take a stab at any of these things they're bound to hit a spot. A few are genuine, but most are frauds.
They are all con artists who cold read the gullible. Save your dosh. Ask yourself if they where any good why are they earning a shilling a week telling fortunes? Surely one of them would have picked up the James Randi $1m by now!

If they really are pyschic, let the skeptics society know. You can get a $20,000 spotters fee. Kerching!

Of course no-one has ever proved their abilities yet.
