Have you got any ambitions in life? have you fulfilled them or are you still waiting? If you havn't done them yet, what's stopping you?
when i was younger I had 3 ambitions,
1) see the place where Jesus was born
2) walk the Great wall of China
3) climb mount Kilimajaro (the highest mountain in Africa)
In 2005 I went on a tour of the Holy Land and visited Bethlehem (amongst other holy places) Last year my wife and I went on holiday to the Far East where I walked on the great wall Im hoping to climb Kilimanjaro for charity in the next couple of years (before im 50 so I,ve got 4 years left) Have you got any unfulfilled ambitions ? have you fulfilled them or are you still waiting? If you havn't done them yet, what's stopping you?

Wanted to go to Rome...did that last year.

Wanted to be qualified accountant.....did that several years ago.

Wanna marry Salma Hayek........am close to that

Mine are not as noble as yours John. I too would love to walk around Galilee and Jerusalem, but my huge ambition is to live in or close to the open countryside, maybe the sweeping spaces of Salisbury Plain, or rural Norfolk, or Scotland. I think the most peaceful place I have ever visited is the military cemetery at Tidworth.

It's always the same issue though - I am paid absurdly well in London for what I do. One day, I keep promising myself.

Bethlehem wa amazing, so was the garden of Gethsemene where he was arrested, I stood within 10 feet of the very rock he was resting on when the romans took him away, very spiritual moment.
-Zorro- when you marry Salma can all the ABers get an invite?

Salisbury Plain gets very noisy whiffy, but it is beautiful. I spent 2 wonderful years as an instructor at the School of Infantry in Warminster, best 2 years of my Army career.
My life ambition is to be a guide dog trainer, whats stopping me at the minute, is im still too young! :(
Also to do alot of volunteer work for animal charities, and at some point to open my own animal rehoming centre.
Money and my age are the main things stopping me!
mine are very shallow compared to yours john.....

I always wanted my own business?........sad i know!!!!

but as i have got older i have started to think that i want to do a full marathon (not the chocolate bar) before i am 40?

and i would like to retire in calafornia!!
My 1 ambition was to become a jobber in the city. I was 14/15 and deciding on my career. It was stopped by a mother who thought I would be sexually harrassed lol.... I ended up in the old Bunny Club as a croupier. age 19/20

I went travelling, across the middle east during the time of war and curfews. I was 17. Not an ambition. Just to get away. 2 years later came back to England. Some countries I visited no longer exist...... and that's just the European iron ones hehe....

I have been all over Israel, and the highlight was snorkelling with the dolphins at Eilat. Not an ambition. Just happened at that particular time. I felt safe. Always armed troops there. And of course Egypt and Jordan....

I only have 1 place I would now like to go and that's the Galapagos Islands, but it is not an ambition. If it happens then so be it. In my case health willing :-) or in spirit lol.....

Fulfill all your dreams if you can. Even if it means hard study
.........or just go with the flow...... xxx

that should have said agents
When I was in my thirties I had three ambitions:

to study and get a degree - now have 1st class honours
degree in information systems;

to obtain a black belt - I now am a Tae Kwon-Do 1st dan;

to run the London marathon - I hate to say that I'm a long way away from that and at forty-nine my chances are ever decreasing. I was thinking of changing my third ambition to Emma Bowman but I think I have more chance with the marathon...
I have fulfilled two of my amibitions....one to swim with the dolphins [I have know been lucky enough to dive [scuba] with them on many occassions], secondly I visited the pyramids at Giza....a truly awe inspiring experience. Next ambition? Having given up smoking :o]....is to take my children to Costa Rica........and finally.....Marry Johnny Depp of course! ;o]

caz, take the kids!

devilwoman, NYC will probably never get much cheaper - about $2 to the pound. (I went there once when it was $1 to the pound, that was expensive).

Not meaning to sound rude, but these are obstacles you can overcome. Go for it, gals!
My main ambition in life has always been to write a book. Whether it got published or not wouldn't matter, just knowing that I had completed it would be enough. I have just started writing one and I am determined to finish it!!

Always wanted to swim with dolphins and hopefully one day I will!! Just need the money first!!

Is having some mini-loobs an ambition??!! I cannot wait until i have my babes in arms and feeling the most ridiculous amount of love in the world!! I'm always bowled over by my nephew and sobbed my heart out when I first laid eyes on him!! God knows what I'll be like when I have my own!! What's stopping me from this ambition?? Um, I need to find someone to give me them!!!!
Become a programmer - *tick*
Make a million creating a website - *cross*
Meet woman of dreams - *tick*
Stalk her until she marries me - *tick*
Have wonderful children - *tick*
Be happy - *tick*

With most of these ticked off, I must say I'm a little stuck as to what to do next... thought of doing a degree but OU is quite expensive. Working on a website at the moment which will change the world of computer generated music which may or may not make me some money. Maybe I'll apply to Dragon's Den to get it set up properly. Finding the time here is a problem though. Oh well, at least the last one is fulfilled!
you're probably right jno, what i should have said, is that its out of my budget range right now,
maybe in a few years time when the kids have left home, and its just me and hubby, then it'll be cheaper for just 2 of us, what a cheapsate eh?

now, what to do about cliff.?
Question Author
Terrific answers guys, thanks very much, but if I may be permitted to say "the only thing stopping you from doing it is, you".

As jno said, "go for it"!!!!!!!!
