not painful really, a bit uncomfortable for a short time , no need to worry.
My gran has had breast cancer 3 times, ended up having both breasts removed and my mum had it just a few months ago, how sore can it be? My mum says its very uncomfortable but it is definately best to have it.
I didnt feel anything and I`m 44C. I Like to refer to it as the titty squash.

thanks for ur replies, but cant they wait till i come of age? lol
Absolutely nothing to worry about. On a scale of 1-10? About 2 as far as I'm concerned and I've had three. My first one was before I was 50, I think they opt for your 50th year otherwise you would have to wait another 3 years which is how often we have them in my area.
Just feels like it's going on forever, I'm a 42 D and it is uncomfortable cos of the position they put you in. The booby seems to stretch out in front for a long way and I was convinced that when it was set free, I would trip over the elongated thing - luckily it went back to the right shape.
I've had this done and I'm not 50. In my case it was because of a suspicious lump.

It was a bit uncomfortable but nothing to worry about.
i live in California and i'm 42 and since turning 40 am supposed to have mamograms every year although i now believe i can go every other year. YES, they do squish your boobs(one at a time) as flat as they can get them between
two clear plastic plate thingies. It was uncomfortable but the main thing i didn't like is they had my boob squished as i was standing there on my tippy-est tip toes(i'm 5'2) because I guess they need it that way for some reason, but thank God i have strong toes! It wasn't too bad although it was uncomfortable as i swear all they needed next was a rolling pin they flattened my boobies that much. Owchie!
