A friend of mine's mum asked me to dinner on New Year's Day. Thought it'd be just him, mum, stepdad (who he can't stand) and maybe brother but turned out to be a full family do!

Was sat next to little brother, bout 15/16 at the time who got rather hammered, offensive and flirty and started his aunt's partner kicking off at him for trying to flirt with "his brother's girlfriend" (which I wasn't). Didn't help that many of them seemed to assume I was his girlfriend and think he was hoping bless him.

Apparantly lil brother staggered into the kitchen at one point and announced to his mother he'd like to "do me co I sounded posh!!!".
thanks jenna you didnt let me down,,,,,,,,: )
Oh dear.

It was an ex-boyfriend of mine. I was about 22 at the time. His brother & girlfriend threw an informal dinner party at their home in Islington. It was great to start off with, with around 4 couples over dinner, then more people joined later, including my boyfriend's ex girlfriend who was now only a friend.

Everyone, except 2 of us, proceeded to get stoned throughout the night and the next thing I knew this woman started talking out loud about her exciting times with my boyfriend. Everyone else fell silent whilst she and another girl talked about how much of a lovely couple they were. It was all very surreal and after a few minutes I realised that I didn't have to stand for it, so I got up and said I was going to the loo, then got my coat and left.

10 minutes later 3 people from the party track me down and drag me back to the house where I proceeded to have a face-to-face row with this woman after she told me that I'd overreacted. Then another girl from the party stepped in and said she fully agreed with me and that this other woman was a complete and utter cow!!!

So all in all a horribly cringe-worthy night really.

Oh, and my boyfriend was too drunk and stoned to even know what the hell was going on. I finished with him 2 weeks later.

:o)
I've got a dinner party coming up next week, hope its as eventful as these!
Sorry Jenna bit of a deviation from your question:

Two of our best friends had been invited over to their neighbours house for dinner and the usual introduction to the neighbourhood etc. We were babysitting for their little boy.

Their dinner party was going very well apparently but the host and hostess disappeared half way through (for a considerable amount of tim) and came back dressed in black bondage style leather gear!!!!

Our friends were terrified but stayed to the end. I have never seen 2 such shell shocked people in all my life when they got home. They are 2 of the most straight laced people on the planet and me and Mr Athley thought it was hysterical it happened to them

:o)

One guest (female) so ****** on arrival at dinner party fell asleep IN her main course. Husband just laughed.
Round at an ex boyfriends mum's house for a family dinner, it was a full house, 3 brothers, a sister, and everyones partners. My ex's brother and his girlfriend had just got back from Australia. Everyone round the table knew that she had been caught in a compromising posiition with a WOMAN in Oz, which had nearly split them up, but no one said anything. My boyfriends mum calmly stood up and said to her "Donna were having Fish today, we heard you loved it down under"... the sexual inuendo was not lost on anyone but everyone was to polite to say anything, we all sat there choking back the laughter, it was brilliant.
We once moved house and I started a new job, only to find one of my new work colleagues was also one of my new neighbours. Our house was one in a terrace of five. My new colleague/neighbour and his wife invited us and the occupants of all the houses around for dinner...a sort of meet the neighbours night. The meal went great and then we all retired to the living room, where our host and his wife proceeded to undress. It turned out our neighbours were all swingers. We were out of there pretty sharpish and moved a couple of months later. I still work with the guy and still can't look him in the eye.
mrs-overall I wonder if you live in the same street as my 2 friends!!!!

:o)
Xmas dinner with my boyfriends (now my ex) family, his grandad was there and he is very old fashioned. I just managed to get my boyfriend from the police station where he'd spent all night in a cell and then we had to sit down to lunch with him sporting a cut eyebrow and black eye.
