it might be very painful. try and get some sinus tablets and clear the blockage

Probably safe for you!! but not for anyone elso the plane!!!
Especially if you are as ill as Ratter.....

Has the ambulance not arrived yet?
not yet ummmm apparently they have a more urgent call to attend first!!
I'm watching the news and haven't seen any sign of a catastrophe!!!!

Don't worry smurfchops... on those longhaul flights to Thailand all they'll do is spray you down with agricultural disinfectant... bag you and your travelling companions up and throw you in the hold... you won't get to eat or drink... or go to the loo until you get to BKK... ;o)

Sounds great, can't wait ... Aatishoo ..... sniff sniff ...
I wouldnt fly if you cant change the pressure in your ears by holding your nose and blowing, you will have a very nasty time while descending.
I know this from personal very painful experience

Seems to be turning into a nasty cold now, I am blowing my nose all the time .. sorry, too much information?? At least the sinuses don't hurt any more.
Question Author
sinbadp on a more serious note, if I am blowing my nose, does this mean the sinuses aren't blocked any more, or is that a stupid question??
smurfchops
its the eustachian tube that runs from the back of the nose to the inner ear, that will control the pressure to the inner ear
Close your mouth, pinch your nose and try to blow your nose. I f you can feel and hear the pressure change in your ear then you will be able to do the same when the plane pressurises as it descends.
If you cant then it will be very painful and a nurse friend of mine informed me that you could damage the eardrum
sorry to sound like mr doom
