As some of you know i'm pregnant.

I was on the train this morning (standing), which took FOREVER to pull in...even though it's one stop.

As we finally approached Baker Street my ears became blocked, i couldnt hear anything, then all my vision went white and blury!!!

Then the train stopped and i could hardly see myself stepping off...then i could just about see a bench in the oppostie direction to the exit and sat on that for a bit.

I started sweating and everything..really scary!

Is this common during pregnancy? :o(

Really strange things can happen when you're pregnant but I would give your midwife a ring hust in case...

luckily i've got my first appointment with her at 1.00pm today.
Aww hon that sounds really scary, are you ok?

Can't help with why it happened but how are you feeling now?
Awww nat I hope you are ok now?

You may have had low blood sugar..did you eat breakfast this morning? make sure you are eating & drinking enough, hun :o) Your blood pressure may have been raised or lowered too..

I don't like diagnosing..I would follow ummmm's advice and ring the midwife to put your mind at rest. Take care!
you were lucky to get to the benh. I have fainted in so many awkward places. School, Pub, Argos, Museums and I can never make It to a bench and end up making a right fool out of myself. Im not sure whether its because you are pregnant, more than likely but I couldnt tell you myself. Maybe you have low iron at the moment.

nat why were you standing? without sounding patronising, why didnt someone offer their seat to a pregnant lady?
I was thinking the same thing, John.

i'm not showing yet John.

I'm only 16 weeks and with my coat on you can't really notice that i'm pregnant.

Was standing because it's usually about a 6 minute stop - but it took 15-20 minutes today.
nat,
as previously said, have a word with your midwife later. It does happen at times, oh the joys of pregnancy, but they will be able to check you over. Have you had any blood tests yet, going from memory they may be around 16 weeks. You could have an iron deficiency or it could be low BP but best to have a word anyway.

The railways do have a scheme whereby mums to be can have a badge to wear so others know you are pregnant. It may get other to offer you a seat or at least help you if you feel faint again. I shall see if i can find any details.

I hope you feel better now
Pregnancy can do very strange things to our bodies, nat!

Rest up as much as possible..don't need to tell you this really, but make sure you tell the midwife every detail later on.
yer I always get a banging headache afterwards.
the sickness feeling is normal, try and eat your banana, you + your baby will get benifit from it, also try and sit with your feet up higher than your hips if possible, relax and take it easy.
Hi, Nat-84, I fainted a couple of times when I was pregnant, usually when i had missed breakfast, been standing around for a long period or rushing around. I'm glad you're getting yourself checked out, hope those igmorant people on the train are proud of themselves! Take care, hope you soon feeling better.
Honestly, where are folks manners these days? I always offer my seat to a lady when im on public transport, wheter they are pregnant or not. I would never see a lady stand while im sittng down
johnlambert. I've always offered my seat to a woman & held doors open etc. However I once offered my seat on a bus & was told to 'eff off, I'm not effing disabled'...lovely woman?

Thanks everyone, just read up about it. Apparently during the 2nd tri its not unusual...(great...)

I think it is due to blood pressure.

I usually eat brekkie when i get to work and luckily my boyfriends kind enough to drive me in on most days. But days like today he has an early start so i jump on the tube.

Possibly my inner nerves also playing apart due to my meeting with the midwife and my first scan today.
