Highjacked Myspace profiles

has anyone else on myspace had their profile used to send adverts of the ilk "OMG I've found free ringtones"? or even worse "click here for naked photos of me"? why oh why doi these lunatics do it? does it really pay?
My profile was highjacked recently, I'd like to meet the people responsible and............. well you can imgine the outcome

dont know how they do it, all my friends including you have been posted bulletines inviting you to viewe naked pictures of me (perish the thought lol)

I saw that today John and didnt think it sounded like something you'd say. there was one from another of my contacts saying free earrings. I missed the naked pics though, dont ask if i would have taken a look, im not committing myself to answering that!!!! lol

It's called 'phishing'. At some point you will have entered your username and password after clicking on a link, but it won't have been a genuine login page, it'll have just been a ruse to get your details so your account can then be hacked into. Tom sent a bulletin round about it a while ago. Just make sure if you're asked to put your details in at any time, it has 'login.myspace' in the address bar, which proves it's genuine.
