i am a telephone sales assistant and am therefore talking all day long, by about 3ish my throat is painfully sore and aches.

Is there anything anybody can suggest that would avoid this happening?? I do drink lots of tea throughout the day, but it doesnt seem to aid it at all?

Thanks

ive never found tea good for a sore throat, but what does work for me is honey and lemon. A spoon of honey and a squeeze of fresh lemon in a mug and top with hot water.
Tea often leaves me feeling a bit dehydrated. Try having a bottle of water with you and take a few sips from that, especially after tea.
a good gargle will help.
How about another job where you do less talking?
Sucking on a jelly cube with lubricate your throat too. The honey solutions above are great also, but tea isn't that good if you get sore throats a lot.
A teaspoon of honey will oil the tubes. Jelly is good too and stop yodelling in your free time.
try drinking PLENTY of water throughout the day. Ideally eight 8 ounce glasses of water is recommended daily. Hot tea is ok occasionally during the day but might dry your throat out some. You might also try asking your local Chemist/Pharmacist what they might recommend for using as a moisturizing gargle, something to add to gargle water. Maybe a Chamomille(sp?) or Aloe Vera type tea occasionally. I know you can buy in the US moisturizing throat sprays and professional speakers and singers have things they use to moisturizes their throats.
Plenty of water is the key though so drink it constantly throughout the day, even during the calls maybe with a straw to cut down on any gulping noises.
Hope this helps.
