Yes. It made it's way to East Kilbride and nearly put my window in. You have until teatime tomorrow to collect it or i'm filling it with all my unwanted Crimbo gifts , empty bottles and cans , empty selection boxes , snotty hankies and pooey nappies. That's right ........ i'm not going to even recycle. You have been warned matey !!!

wots it like up there, i know you guys have your own weather system
Oh it's mental ! I actually did see wheelie bins crashing past my front door. The bins got emptied at 8am on Sat morning but some sleepyheads forgot and put their bins out about two hours later - doh ! So they didn't get emptied and instead of putting it back in their gardens , they seem to have just been left there - until tonight that is when the gales took hold and sent them bouncing down the street. So a few unhappy faces tomorrow. Touch wood , my power hasn't cut off yet but it was touch and go earlier. In saying that , it sounds a lot quieter outside now so i'm hoping that the worst has passed.Hmm , until tomorrow probably ....... or today I should say.

Where are you Jamwan ?

killie, we lost power for an hour and a half, about 9.30, but luckily it came back on in time for o.a e. and still game
I'd have been raging if I had missed them. Although , that scene with Iza is now indelibly etched on my poor brain forever ! More of her than I needed to see. You've got to love still game. I don't know a lot about football though I must confess , so I sit through it saying who's he and who's he supposed to be. A lot of it I get though and it is funny.

So did you have to hunt for your candles or were you prepared for the worst ? I usually have to dig about in the dark , getting bruised shins trying to find my way about. Last New Year though my power cut out a few times and right on the stroke of midnight , we were blacked out. Bang went the music. Magic ! Don't you just love the Scottish weather ? I agree though that in EK we seem to have our own weather system. It can be mad here sometimes. Four seasons in one day right enough. The only place where you go kitted out in summer clothes , wellies and fleece .......... just in case ! Oh and an icy wind that would rip you in two. Great shopping centre though - my second home but even I draw the line at shopping on New Years day at Debenhams. What were they thinking about those trading hours ???
I meant to say "You've got to love Still Game" then lead on to say that the thing with Only An Excuse is that I don't know a lot about football ............. It just rolled into one big sentence there , so sorry about that if it was confusing. It's late and I think that i've had one too many , hic !

i worked out what you meant, anyway we were ready for the blackout cos the lights were flickering early on, and your right you do have a great shopping centre, its been to long since we visited EK
not swindi here!
You see , i'm a bit of a scatterbrain at times. Flickering lights is a good indication for most people that their lights are going to cut out but I leave it until they actually do until I decide that that would probably be a good time to look out some candles. According to the weather which is on just now , it's set to be wet again tomorrow but without the gales. Hmmmm , we'll see.

It beats me why people go to the Forge or Braehead because I think that Ek has it all. It was in the EK news a while back too that they are set to expand it again - which I was shocked by because it's already huge. Apparently they are injecting billions into it to catapult into a league of it's own which will put them poles apart from every other centre nationwide. (So they say) As well as what it currently has , it is meant to have over the future : a 1000 seat capacity theatre , an art gallery , museum , mini zoo , another major competitor supermarket which hasn't been named yet but will ruffle Sainsbury's feathers , an even bigger ice rink , bigger cinema , bigger library , various other retailers etc. A lot of the elderly people in EK seem a bit annoyed by the expansion because they feel that the town is getting too big now but I think that it'll be great when it's finished and well worth a visit. My only concern is that it's a 10 year project which will bring major disruption to the centre and will further exacerbate the congestion problem. A shopaholics dream though and a husband's nightmare !
