I have today received a letter from the House of Commons from my MP who has written to various broadasting heads an has also booked in time with the speaker to raise this issue in the Commons concerning the lack of subtitles on many programmes (especially on the ITV channels on freeserve) and the lack of many subtitles on repeats that initially shown had subtitles available. He says he is appalled at the lack of availability as well as the lack of ability to enter a phone number including the minicom code or to check any box advising that your number is in fact type talk, and how penalised some of us are with the lack of facilities (especially TV) You and I mentioned the necessity for subtitles recently and I am sure you are as aware as me the lack of them so I thought you may be interested that the situation will certainly be discussed soon in the House of Commons.
