Contraception and the Catholic Faith

As I understand it all forms of contraception are forbidden in Catholicism. As a result women use 'natural family planning methods'. But surely this is contraception in itself! whether it's a condom or symptothermal, both are about preventing pregnancy?

Do you know of any organised religion that isn't hypocritical......love thy neighbour...unless he's a Catholic.....peace in the world ...to all except Jews...and so on and so on ......religion causes more war and bloodshed than any other reason on this little planet. Anyways I believe the line is all forms of "artificial contraception" using the female cycle is a "natural method"

Perhaps I'm being to presuming too much, but I would have thought that the Catholic Church is against contraception as it believes it is unholy to 'choose' when you should fall preganant. I can't believe that is just about Latex and hormone (tablet form) discrimination. Therefore surely ALL methods of contraception are deemed 'unholy' by them. Personally I don't think any religion should have such black & white laws. Surely there have to be some grey areas, particularly within the subject of Family planning. Anyone know why Catholicism is against Family Planning?

Maybe it is a major conspiracy set about to stop all pre-marital sex, and if that were the case then I'm going to hell Baby!!!! ;-)

I thought it was only "artificial" forms of contraception was banned, not all forms. So the withdrawal method, avoiding sex at fertile times etc are permitted.......

As an aside I remember a TV programme once espousing that this was the reason that anal sex isn't seen to be as tabbo in many catholic countries as it was an safe alternate when the women might be fertile.
