Sounds like wind!!
I don't know......I think it's just love....It's strange but nice
Also "somebody17", when things aren't goint too well in a relationship, the stomach "flutter" turns into a "gut wrenching" agony. I know, I've experienced both feelings...
I thought it was hunger- a creamcake or seven usually stops my stomach being squirmy anyway.
I think rocascool, has summed it up,it is the greatest feeling when it is love and crap when it ends.
This might be what you are looking for:

Butterflies in the stomach is a medical condition characterized by the physical sensation of a "fluttery" (hence butterflies) feeling in the stomach. Some believe that this is caused by the release of epinephrine, or adrenaline, when one is nervous, pulling blood away from the stomach and sending it to the muscles. Butterflies in the stomach is most often experienced prior to important events, when stress is induced, but can be experienced in situations of impending danger.

I guess this would also apply to the excitement you feel when confronted with someone you love or are in love with.
Yea, I think rocascool has hit the nail on the head!!!
